Crew & Casting Callout for Bring Back Chainmail R&D

Found In Translation are hiring for two paid roles in an upcoming project funded by Arts Council England, where we will develop new play Bring Back Chainmail in collaboration with Autism Anglia. Specifically we are looking for a...


Technical Stage Manager with experience running rehearsals & operating shows with a small company. We are especially looking for stage managers who identify as neurodiverse.

Actor to play Dave (male, 40-60) the caring but melancholic father of James, a boy who escapes the painful loss of his mother by living as a knight in an imaginary medieval world.


Both roles are paid in line with ITC rates on a freelance basis.


The R&D will be based in Colchester and is due to take place during March 2021, although applicants should be aware that all or some parts of the project may have to be delayed & rescheduled.


The project will include two weeks of in-person, socially distanced R&D rehearsals and a pilot performance at an SEND school, where the cast will also deliver an interactive drama workshop devised during the R&D. As part of the project our company will receive training from experts at Autism Anglia in working with neurodiverse audiences and communicating accessibly. Cast will also benefit from a workshop on living-history with a medieval reenactor from Regia Anglorum.
